About Us

Americans for a United Ireland was founded in 2008 to support the ongoing struggle for Irish Freedom. We see ourselves in the lineage many great Irish American organizations that came before us such as the Fenian Brotherhood, Friends of Irish Freedom, the National Association for Irish Justice, and Irish Northern Aid. We will carry on this great heritage in the 21st century. We are solely dedicated to the issue of Irish Unity, and will work with any like minded person in the US, Irish or not, that seeks to help us achieve the goal of a 32 County Irish Republic.

We are not aligned to any political party in Ireland, but we do support the current Yes for Unity campaign.

Mission Statement

Americans for a United Ireland stands for a unified Ireland by peaceful means. We aim to achieve this by raising awareness among the Irish-American community and putting pressure on the governments in Washington, Dublin, and London. We are sympathetic to all political and nonviolent movements and parties in Ireland working toward the goal of peace, freedom, self-determination, and human rights. In particular, we support the Yes for Unity campaign. We believe the time is right for a Referendum on Irish Unity due to the chaos and change wrought by Brexit and recent demographic changes. We are unwavering in our support of the Irish Republic proclaimed in Easter week 1916 and envisioned in the Democratic Programme of the First Dáil.
